John Clarke "Jock" Wallace, 92, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at home from natural causes. Jock was born in Des Moines, IA to Virginia Clarke and Ross Wallace on July 3, 1924. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and Drake University in Des Moines and went on to work in the advertising department of Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. for 28 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a pilot in the Navy.

He married Wanda Kathleen Dunagan on August 18, 1946...

John Clarke "Jock" Wallace, 92, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at home from natural causes. Jock was born in Des Moines, IA to Virginia Clarke and Ross Wallace on July 3, 1924. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and Drake University in Des Moines and went on to work in the advertising department of Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. for 28 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a pilot in the Navy.

He married Wanda Kathleen Dunagan on August 18, 1946 in his hometown of Des Moines, where they embarked on a remarkable 70 years of marriage filled with many wonderful memories and experiences. He was a longtime member of the Des Moines Pioneer Club, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Iowa and an active lifelong member of Plymouth Congregational United of Christ.

During his life, Jock passionately enjoyed competitive table tennis, ham radio, golf, travel, music, all Iowa Hawkeye sports, and combining these interests whenever he could. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor.

Jock is survived by his wife, Wanda Dunagan Wallace; sons, William (Micki Waalk) of Jacksonville, FL and Scott (Susan Russell) of Williamsburg, MA; daughter, Nancy of Des Moines; grandchildren, Kristin (Michael) Morrison, Ross Wallace, Thomas Wallace (Lena - fiancé), Jeffrey Wallace, Samuel Wallace and Sarah (Peter) Gaitens; great-grandchildren, Devin Collins, Daphne Innis-Wallace and Riley Gaitens. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ross Wallace.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Plymouth Church in Des Moines with private inurnment at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines.

Memorials may be made to Plymouth Church, the Scottish Rite Good Brotherhood Fund or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Iowa.

The family of Jock Wallace wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Jay Rosenberger for his 28 years of care, the staff of Scottish Rite Park and all the friends and family that have shown their support now and over the years.
